Jackpot Sheep Show By Nikyta Engstrom, 2015-2016 Reporter


        The annual Hiland FFA Jackpot Sheep Show was held at the Holmes County Fairgrounds. The announcers at the event were Hiland's own Vice president Regina Nisley and President Alisha Hershberger. Hiland and West Holmes high school ran the showmanship events and had Matt Martin judge the show.

The Pee Wee and Novice got buckets with show supplies for prizes. The show supplies included halters, soap, a brush, and a towel for the sheep, as well as a snack for the kids. Those prizes were sponsored by HC Show Stock and the Holmes County Farm Bureau.The towels were sponsored by The Parts Place.


For showmanship, the first place winner's prize was sponsored by Chuck Nicholson and TMK Farm Service, second place was sponsored by Johnson Show Lambs and third place was sponsored by Mount Hope Auction.

Busy Bee Lumber donated the sawdust  for the show arena. Jenni-Mai Show Lambs sponsored the tumblers and koozies that were given to each participant in the Sheep Show.

The Top Five in the Sheep Show were Grand Champion Lucas Tuck, Reserve Champion and fifth place Logan Harvel, third place Meghann Winters and fourth place Justin Howell.

The Top Five Overall of the Hiland FFA Jackpot Sheep Show was sponsored by Weaver Leather.

Hiland FFA Jackpot Sheep Show Champion Commercial Ewe was sponsored by Mount Eaton Elevator and the Reserve Champion was sponsored by Eco-Seal Home Solutions.


There was a total of 134 Market Lambs exhibited at the Sheep Show.
